Because these things happen so slow is why society takes little to no interest in it, which is unbearably sad. Right now, residents in 78 communities in Western Massachusetts are failing to recycle some 25,000 tons of paper each year, according to the state Department of Environmental Protection in Springfield. This may seem like a lot, but last year we recycled somewhere around 35,000 tons. This is for paper, which we tend to think about, imagine what the result of non-recycled Styrofoam, of which we do not keep in mind.
