I am working on a project where I will be building a city out of styrofoam cups. As the city gets larger, the plant I have will die. It is a comment on the lack of concern for the environment in the United States. There are multiple alternatives to styrofoam. Coffee shops could use paper cups or they could use eco-foam. Eco-foam is the better alternative because it is 100% biodegradable and does not require paper. As the project progresses I will be posting images.

This one makes me think of the final outcome within the city. You have the new buildings slowly coming in to create a more metropolitan feel. You have old buildings still displayed, but maybe they are no longer functioning (i.e., no lights in the buildings). You have minor detail, such as trees for example, that continue to give it a naturesque touch. Many things are going on here, which fits the title of "Styro-City" because a city tends to be busy. Very nice.
I am passionate about photography because it is a means of communication that is, for me, more powerful than words. Photography allows me to share my ideas and opinions with others.
Themes of environmentalism are very common in my work. I used to study Biodiversity and Conservation Biology before I fully discovered my passion for art. When I was a child I made my family start recycling. Taking care of the environment has always been an important part of my life.
Whenever I think about the impact humanity has on this Earth, I research ways in which green products could make a difference in our everyday lives. There are so many small actions and alternative materials that companies and businesses could easily use to reduce carbon emmissions, waist and pollution.
